Rusty's third novel (Lightning Tree) is dedicated to the lasting memory of Bobby Payne, a quiet lanky boy full of intelligence and life, a 1978 Newton High School graduate who unfortunately lost his life at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis during routine training exercises.
